First Communion Preparation

Parents are encouraged to prepare their children for their First Reconciliation and First Communion sacraments. Families can choose to participate in our monthly faith formation activities.
Should parents decide to have their children receive First Holy Communion with Ecclesia Domestica, a meeting with the Chaplain will be held prior to the big day (provided that the chaplain is available to do so). However, parents are also encouraged to contact their own parish pastor to arrange for the reception of their children First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

"Encouragement of parents in sacramental preparation

The Church teaches that parents and pastors of souls, especially pastors of parishes, are to take care that the faithful are properly instructed to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and come to it at the appropriate time (cf. can. 890). The Church also teaches that it is primarily the duty of parents and those who take the place of parents, as well as the duty of pastors, to take care that children who have reached the use of reason are prepared properly and, after they have made sacramental confession, are refreshed with the Most Holy Eucharist as soon as possible (cf. Can. 914). For this reason, Ecclesia Domestica especially encourages parents in carrying out their responsibility for the sacramental preparation of their children, under the guidance and direction of their pastors.
